COMPANY HISTORY

-
1920
– The company George Jowitt Ltd is
founded near Sheffield (U.K.) to
manufacture « artificial » wheels
for the cutlery industry, to replace the
sharpening
(natural) stone wheels.
-
1957 – A Dutch subsidiary
is set up in Eindhoven (Holland) for the
local
manufacture of grinding wheels supplied
to Philips Company.
-
1962 – Our present
factory is built in Best (Holland) –
first settled in
Best Industrial park – to supply wheels
to Continental Europe for prestigious
customers in Germany, France and Italy,
- SKF, Caterpillar, ZF …
-
2002 – A Management
Buy Out brings Vincent CAZIN as the CEO
and sole
shareholder of our Dutch entity, which becomes
fully independent and is run for its
expansion on the European Continent and
elsewhere.

2007 – Factory is
extended to meet with the increasing demand
of surface grinding
wheels in all sorts of industries: bearings,
springs, compressor parts, automotive
components, tooling, machine knives, cutlery…
-
2008 – It is time
to launch ROXOR Abrasives to make clear
that our Company is
expanding and getting ready for future developments.
